Washington DC police have shared footage of a road-rage incident in which a woman attacked a Greyhound bus with a car jack and then drove into a man with her car as she made her getaway.
The incident was captured on a mobile phone by a bus passenger.
The attacker broke through the driver’s-side window of the bus with the car jack, before arguing with bystanders and then driving a short distance with a man on the bonnet of her car as she left the scene.
US media outlets reported the man who was hit was the bus driver, who was on the phone to police at the time.
According to CBS News, bus passenger Juan Blanco recorded the incident on his mobile phone.
“It was just scary … she just started going AWOL,” he said to the US network.
“She tried to go inside the bus, but the bus was locked.”
The footage shows passengers coming off the bus after the driver was hit to help him and confront the woman.
“What are you doing? That’s an old man,” someone can be heard saying on the audio.
The woman got back inside the car to drive away, hitting the bus driver again and carrying him about 10 metres on the bonnet before he slid off.
The bus driver can be heard saying he was “OK” after the woman left the scene.
Police later charged a 20-year-old woman over the incident.
