Guests are being interviewed by police after reports of a disturbance lead to the discovery of a woman’s body outside a motel in Maryborough on Queensland’s Fraser Coast.
Paramedics and police were called to the Ferry Street motel around 5:00am after reports of a disturbance.
When they arrived they found the woman’s body.
Acting Detective Inspector Wade Lee said police are treating the death as suspicious.

“The investigation is in its infancy, so we’re still moving towards determining whether it is homicide,” he said.
“Inquiries are continuing to determine the nature of the dispute.”
Detective Inspector Lee said police did not know the woman’s name or how she died.
“We have a forensic team at the scene at the moment and they are still trying to determine a cause of death,” he said.
“There were a number of witnesses that were at the motel at the time and they are assisting us with our inquiries as witnesses.”
He said detectives were looking for a person of interest who they believe the woman knew.
“This is not a random attack, it appears these matters have arisen out of these parties knowing each other.”
