Woman, 47, shot in the leg at property in Launceston
Police have called for the public’s help after a woman was shot in the leg at a property in Launceston.
About 6:00pm (AEDT) on Wednesday police were called to an address on New World Avenue in Trevallyn, where they found a 47-year-old woman with a single bullet wound to the leg.
The woman, from the neighbouring suburb of Newnham, was taken to the Launceston General Hospital where she had surgery and was in a stable condition, police said in a statement.
“Police would like to speak to anyone with information that would assist their ongoing investigation, in particular anyone who may have heard gunshots in the last few days in the area of New World Avenue,” the statement said.
