Royal wedding: First glimpse of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s ‘non-traditional’ wedding cake
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding cake will have an “ethereal” taste and an unusual display, according to its master baker.
The three-part layered lemon and elderflower cake will be presented in a non-traditional way, master baker Claire Ptak said.
She has not skimped on ingredients — some 200 Amalfi lemons will be used, as well as 10 bottles of Sandringham elderflower cordial, which is made with elderflower from Queen Elizabeth II’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk.
Ms Ptak has been working with her team of six bakers for the past five days in the oversized kitchens of Buckingham Palace.
But she said she was not ready to reveal ahead of time the design, which has been approved by Prince Harry and Ms Markle.
The pair will get married at Windsor Castle on Saturday evening (AEST).
