Reconciliation Officer


Refunds and Reconciliations Officer – 6-month contract The Refunds and Reconciliations Officer role is part of the Customer Payments Group who are responsible for all payment controls within Optus. This position is primarily responsible for the overall management and ownership of customer refunds and the associated controls, approvals and reconciliations associated for both Optus and Virgin Mobile. The Role This role has a high-volume of requests continually and the incumbent must have a strong ability to multi-task throughout the day to ensure all controls are completed prior to actioning any requests. In addition to refunds, a monthly responsibility is also the end-to-end management of the CMBS billing system direct debit payment processing for both bank account and credit card payments. Key responsibilities are to process customer cheque refund requests, customer credit card refunds, customer EFT refunds, management and daily correction of all LIU errors, bank Statement Recs, BPAY reversal adjustments and CMBS monthly direct debit run.

About you To be successful in this role, you will need to have strong attention to detail to not just be task focused but add value in spotting anomalies, question high value refunds and be the stop gap for refund requests that may not look correct to protect Optus revenue and ensure only legitimate requests are actioned. Other preferred skills and experience include:

  • Working in a fast past, high volume environment and being able to prioritise work load to ensure tasks are completed each day
  • Being able to manage stake holder expectations
  • Solid investigation skills with investigating, reporting and resolving anomalies in reconciliation errors
