NRL Josh Reynolds baby gender reveal video on Instagram
Wests Tigers star Josh Reynolds has shared the epic moment he announced to the world he is expecting his first baby boys.
The star playmaker last week dropped the bombshell news that he and his partner are expecting identical twins — but found a way to top the exciting revelation when they announced to the world the gender of their future rugby league trouble-makers with an over-the-top gender reveal video.
The 29-year-old former NSW State of Origin star shared the epic moment with all his fans when he posted a video on Instagram.
The short video shows Reynolds passing a Wests Tigers branded rugby league ball at a balloon filled with party confetti.
The ball was rigged up with spikes on the tip to break the balloon and explode the all-blue confetti inside.
Reynolds and his partner are seen embracing after the unique reveal.
“So today is the big reveal day and what better place to do it than where it all started, Clemton Park,” Reynolds said of his old junior football club in Canterbury, Sydney.
“I’ve got a bit of an idea. This is the old weapon (holding a Wests Tigers footy up to the camera). We’ve stuck a couple of pins (to the) to a Tigers ball. So, yeah, this is a big moment in my life. This is where it all started for me. Hopefully one day my kids can play here — well, that’s if they’re boys. Wish us luck.”
Scores of NRL stars did exactly that.
Former NSW Blues teammate Aaron Woods commented on the video: “Congrats legend and goodluck brother”.
Former Broncos star and Reynolds’ Fox League colleague Corey Parker wrote: “Congrats mate. Very happy for you. Stars are finally aligning”.
Long-time former teammate Josh Morris wrote: “Congratulations brother so happy for you @kmozzle you need to tell @joshreynolds9 what he’s in for”.
Benji Marshall also passed on his congratulations: “Yessssssssss maaaaaaaate. Grub jnrs. Congrats”.
NRL stars Tyson Frizell, Chris Lawrence, Beau Ryan and Trent Hodkinson also passed on their congratulations on social media.
The big gender reveal comes less than a week since Reynolds gave his first interview where he revealed the big news that he and his partner were expecting twins.
Reynolds told NRL.com it was time for him to put an end to his party-boy reputation.
His partner has made the decision to move from Melbourne to Sydney for the birth of their children.
“I am so happy,” he said.
“Our little tribe is going to be together in Sydney and we’re going to make it work. That’s massive for me that she’s willing to come up here and raise the kids.
“I don’t want them growing up without their dad or someone dropping in every couple of weeks. It’s not the person I am. I want to be part of their lives and I can’t wait. I want to be a hands on dad. I’m honestly over the moon.
“To have these two kids on the way, it’s the proudest moment of my life and I know my life is going to change but I’m so happy and all I want to do is be the best dad I can be and give these two kids the best possible chance in life.”
