Manhunt in Risdon Vale after armed man flees on motorbike

A man believed to be carrying a firearm and riding a trail bike has caused Tasmania Police to lock down the suburb of Risdon Vale, near Hobart.
- Police say no shots were fired and the men were known to each other
- An air and ground search was underway on Sunday afternoon
- The man fled on a white motorbike and is thought to have a gun
Tasmanian Police were called to a house on Sugar Loaf Road, Risdon Vale about 2:00pm today, with police saying there was an “incident” between two men, one of them understood to have been armed.
Following the incident, the man fled the house on Hobart’s eastern shore, riding a white trail bike and wearing a white helmet.
Police said no shots were fired and no one was injured, with both men are known to each other and the police.
The Westpac rescue helicopter was this afternoon searching the area of Risdon Vale, with police resources brought in from across the greater Hobart area.
Police have said they will have an elevated presence in the area for the rest of the day and are calling on anyone who may have seen the man to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000.
