Man found disoriented, naked in Perth’s south, charged with murder of woman in Munster

Homicide Squad detectives have charged a 23-year-old man with the murder of a 30-year-old woman in Perth’s south on Friday.
- A 23-year-old man was found by police running around naked and appearing disoriented
- Police do not believe he knew Cara Hales, whose body was found at the property in Munster
- WA Police are investigating four suspicious deaths in a three-day period
Officers were called to a property on Henderson Road in Munster by St John Ambulance about midday on Friday and found the body of 30-year-old Cara Hales.
Shortly after, police said a man was “running around naked and appearing disoriented” in the neighbouring suburb of Henderson, near the intersection of Russell Road and Rockingham Road.
It is understood the man took off into bushland, but was later taken into custody.
Police do not believe the man was known to Ms Hales.
The man, who is from the southern Perth suburb of Wellard, is due to appear in court on Sunday.
Ms Hales’ death was the fourth suspicious death in WA in a three-day period.

In unrelated incidents, two men were charged with murder by following fights in separate houses in Perth suburbs in the two days after Christmas Day.
Jason John Burt, 39, faced Joondalup Magistrates Court on Friday charged with murdering 68-year-old Hans Besselaar, who died in hospital after a fight at a Duncraig house on Boxing Day.

Emergency services were called to the home on Davallia Road about 10:00pm and found Mr Besselaar seriously injured.
He was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital but died a short time later.
A 20-year-old man also appeared on Joondalup Magistrates Court on Friday charged with murdering a man in Clarkson, in Perth’s north, on Thursday afternoon.

It is alleged Connor Stephen Milton killed 34-year-old Craig Wilson during a fight between the two men outside a home on Willoughby Retreat.
Both accused men are due to face Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on January 9.
Meanwhile police are continuing to investigate the death of a 30-year-old Perth man in Kalgoorlie, in WA’s Goldfields, on Wednesday night.
