A MAN has been charged with murdering a young Tamworth mother whose body was found alongside her unharmed baby girl seven weeks ago.
The body of 22-year-old Teah Luckwell was discovered beside her one-year-old daughter in the Tamworth unit on the night of March 28, police say.
Emergency services were alerted about 9.40pm by a neighbour, police said at the time, adding that Ms Luckwell’s daughter was taken to hospital for a check and has since been looked after by her grandmother.
On Tuesday police arrested a 27-year-old man and charged him with murder. He will appear via video link in Tamworth Local Court on Wednesday, with police addressing the media prior to his appearance.
A NSW Police spokeswoman told AAP on Wednesday the incident was not domestic violence-related and it’s alleged the man broke into Ms Luckwell’s home.
