Our Maritime business offers Asset Management Services including repair, maintenance and in-service support for commercial and naval ships in Australia. In Darwin, we provide asset management services in support of the Armidale Class Patrol Boat fleet. Reporting to the Production Manager, this technical position will see you play a hands on role in the repair and maintenance of the ACPB Electronic, Navigation and Communications Systems. Your main responsibility in this role will be to fault find and perform a variety of electronic tasks to ensure that all servicing, repairs and upgrades are completed to meet customer expectations and deadlines.
Perform maintenance activities on the ACPB Electronic and Communications Systems
Carry out surveys and reports with as required on the Electronic and communications Systems
Assist in conducting various tests and trials for components or systems and prepare trials documentation
Analysing data and assist in compiling reports for ACPB Electronic and Communications Systems
Establish and maintain a close relationship with project managers, Navy and project teams.
Electronics and communications trade certificate is essential
Experience working in a ship building/repair or similar heavy engineering industry
Strong knowledge of ships navigation systems radar and gyro
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and prioritise tasks
You will have a keen eye for detail and the ability to resolve highly complex problems
It is essential that you are an Australian Citizen to be eligible for a Defence Security Clearance.
