James Packer resigns from Crown Resorts for ‘personal reasons’
Billionaire James Packer has resigned as a director of Crown Resorts, which owns the Crown casinos in Melbourne and Perth.
Crown announced his departure was due to “personal reasons”, without giving further details.
“We have appreciated James’ contribution to the board and respect his decision to step down from his role as director at this time,” Crown’s executive chairman John Alexander said.
Earlier this month, Mr Packer sold more than $100 million worth of his shares in Crown.
After that sale, his remaining stake was valued at more than $4 billion.
More to come.
