About the role
Mater Mothers’ Hospital is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Midwife to fulfil a fixed term contract position until September 2019. We are considering applications for full or part-time.
Mater Mothers’ Hospitals are leaders in the provision of high quality maternity and newborn services for the people of Queensland and northern New South Wales. Providing exceptional care and support of women and their families, Mater Mothers’ Hospitals offer integrated services covering obstetrics, gynaecology, neonatology, and maternal fetal medicine.
In this role you will be responsible for providing private postnatal care with a high volume of normal and complex care cases within the Mater Mothers’ Hospitals.
Salary range: $44.08-$47.23 (RN2) per hour plus superannuation
What you’ll be doing
As a Clinical Midwife, you will be responsible for practicing with advanced clinical competence in the provision of quality and cost-effective care in consultation with other members of the health care team. This includes providing support and direction to other staff while role modelling and promoting professional standards of practice and conduct.
To be successful in your application for this position it is essential that you have:
- Current Midwifery registration with AHPRA
- Considerable post-graduate midwifery experience
- Current and evidence-based postnatal experience
- Strong clinical leadership and management skills and ability
- Willingness to commit to and role model the Mater values
- Advanced clinical competency and the ability to maintain the highest standards of nursing/midwifery practice
- Effective communication and clinical problem solving skills to maximise patient care within the multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to the continuous improvement of health care and midwifery practice, and to continuing professional development of self and others.
