Barack Obama arrives in Sydney ahead of secretive speech at Art Gallery of NSW
It is the hottest ticket in town, just how to get one remains one of Sydney’s secrets.
Former US president Barack Obama touched down in the Harbour City on Friday afternoon, before being whisked off to a CBD hotel.
He is due to speak tonight at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
That is an experience money can’t buy. There are no tickets available for purchase and the guest list is “invitation only”.
It is not clear who those guests are.
A spokeswoman described them as “businesspeople”, but could not confirm numbers or what Mr Obama would speak about.
Mr Obama was invited to the region by the New Zealand United States Council, whose members include businesspeople and academics keen to bolster economic links between the two countries.
The former president has just completed a three-day visit to New Zealand, and is expected to meet with Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull in Australia.
His visit also takes in New Zealand, Singapore and Japan.
