Assistant Stud Manager


An exciting opportunity has become available at Newhaven Park, one of Australia’s leading thoroughbred nurseries.

The Assistant Stud Manager role involves all aspects of our operation on the farm and at the thoroughbred sales. The successful applicant would have extensive hands on experience in the industry, including but not limited to:

• Handling of mares, foals, weanlings and yearlings (Stallion handling also of benefit but not an essential requirement for this position)
• Assisting the farrier and vet
• Able to administer IV and IM treatments
• Manage stock and staff on a daily basis
• General farm maintenance

The position would suit a highly motivated individual who is interested in advancing their career in the thoroughbred industry.

The role requires strong communication and organisational skills as well as a high level of professionalism and dedication.

An attractive remuneration package will be discussed with the successful applicant and on-site accommodation is available for the right candidate.

About us
Newhaven Park is situated in the beautiful Hilltops region of New South Wales, 3.5 hours from Sydney, 2 hours from Canberra and 25 minutes and 35 minutes from the towns of Boorowa and Cowra respectively.
The farm is 8500 acres of rolling hills nestled around the Boorowa river and has been run by the Kelly family for four generations, producing 50 G1 winners. Newhaven currently stands dual Group One winner and Champion 3YO colt Xtravagant and will foal down approximately 200 mares in the upcoming season.
