Essendon’s Irish import Conor McKenna has been referred directly to the tribunal on a charge of serious misconduct for allegedly biting Western Bulldog’s player Tory Dickson.

If found guilty, the Irish defender is likely to be suspended for at least three games.

McKenna was involved in a scuffle with Dickson after the Dogs forward chased him down and won a free kick for holding the ball.
